Have You Ever Seen a Green Plum in the Sun?

A$65.00

Clementine Day’s second cookbook Have You Ever Seen a Green Plum in the Sun is an intimate series of reflections and recipes from four years of living in the Victorian countryside.

Each recipe carries with it a journal entry that connects to it’s story. Cooking a bowl of pasta for a friend who’s going through a rough time. Crying at the farmers market and making tomato soup with the acquired tomatoes. Falling out of a tree while picking mulberries and hobbling home to make a cake with the small haul. Walking with a friend to get an ice cream on a lunch break and later recreating a favourite flavour at home. Picking plums from a tree near a swimming hole and making a pie with them. Long commutes staring at wild fennel in late summer and then picking some and adding it to jam.

An introspective exploration of food and feelings over the course of four years of deep personal change and expansion.

Photographed on film in Clementine’s home by her best friend Jessie Webb, this book is decidedly lo-fi and self-published.

Featuring over 80 recipes.
